Corrective Polishing MachinesAfter-sales Service
Introduction
The Zeeko Range of Corrective Polishing machines for optics production are known as IRP machines - (Intelligent Robotic Polisher)
These polishers vary in size from the IRP 50 (max part capacity 50mm x 50mm) to the IRP 3000 (max polishing size 3000mm x 3000mm)
The smallest part that can be polished on the IRP 50 (and other similar machines is approx. 2.5mm in diameter (subject to the optical design)
Polishing Tools vary in size from R-540mm, R-240, R-160 to the most popular sizes of R-80, R-40 and R-20
The smaller radii are found in the SAG range that covers R-10 down to R-2、R1、R0.4mm (with R-0.05mm to be introduced in the future)

Features of the Zeeko Machine
Polish aspheres and freeform surfaces
Polish other difficult geometries such as Hemispheres, Hyper-Hemispheres, Wolter (grazing incidence) optics and many other complex surfaces
Polishes many different and difficult materials such as carbides, crystals, low expansion glass and carbides, IR materials
Ease of use with new ZephyrCAM software
Low Running Costs

Polishing Processes
All Zeeko machines can perform the following processes:
1. Shape Adaptive Grinding – a ductile grinding form of polishing
2. Bonnet Polishing – the “Classic” Zeeko process
3. Jet Polishing and Ultrasonic Jet polishing

Metrology
In built Metrology on the Larger machines includes:
Integrated “over machine” Test Towers with built in Interferometer Systems that can be paired with Zeeko's
Zeeko Sub-aperture Stitching Software
Surface Texture Analysis using accessory integrated White Light Technology
Inbuilt and Integrated Swing Arm Profilometry available on selected machines
Integrated Scanning Pentaprism Profilometer available on selected machines

Software
The new Zeeko ZephyrCAM software has all of the features of earlier releases plus an easy to use interface and an ability to:
1. Generate toolpaths to polish multiple surfaces and multiple faceted surfaces
2. Use “special” Zeeko designed or “user designed” tools
3. Polish using varying precess angles by mapping the tool’s surface geometry
4. Run “off-Virtual Pivot” tools
5. Polish difficult geometries such as Hemispheres, Hyper-Hemispheres, Wolter (grazing incidence) optics and many other complex surfaces
6. Reach levels of roughness below 3 Angstrom
7. Control and remove many mid-spatial effects and choose from a variety of complex toolpaths to control the creation of mid-spatial effects
8. Choose from a variety of different toolpath techniques to limit and to control edge effects
9. Use the range of Zeeko “SAG” (Shape Adaptive Grinding) Tools
10. Operate also on 6 axis Robots and 5 axis Machining Centres for Pre-polishing

Individual Machines
1.
IRP 50
this machine is built with all options of slurry delivery (peristaltic, low and high pressure integrated SMU). It and can also be supplied with all three different polishing processes (SAG, Classic and both FJP and UFJP). It is an excellent machine for volume manufacture

2.
IRP 100
this is a larger version of the IRP 50 and has proven itself not only as an equally effective volume production machine is an excellent research machine

3.
IRP 200 MKI
the original machine in the Zeeko range is still in production and remains the firm choice for research labs and low volume/ wide variety production

4.
IRP 200 MKII
a 300mm capacity machine this is the volume production successor to the Mk1 machine having direct A and B axis drives, linear motors and linear encoders for a long life, low maintenance, high performance user experience

5.
IRP 400
this is the smallest of the “Type 2” virtual pivot machines and as such is very suitable for long radius optics. Shorter radius optics being better suited to the IRP 600 and the smaller IRP 200 machines

6.
IRP 600
this is the largest of the “Type 1” Virtual Pivot machines designed especially for applications where the requirement is for steep optics or where the machine is to cover a wide variety of workpieces where short radius optics are expected to be among them

7.
IRP 800
the first of the astronomical mirror machine range this machine has a Type 2 Virtual Pivot and roof doors making it ideal to pair with an interferometer test tower and all of the other metrology accessories that are required with these applications for larger optics

8.
IRP 1000
IRP 1200
IRP 1000 and 1200 –considered as the “Gold Standard” among machines for the fabrication of larger mirrors these machines are the largest available as a single structure that can be transported and installed without dismantling and reassembly. Available with the full range of accessory metrology these are very popular machines for anyone making large format optics

9.
IRP 1600
IRP 2400
IRP3000
IRP 1600. 2400 and 3000 – the only commercially available large optic machines this range is built to special order and as such can be made to ANY size required and specified by the end user. They require disassembly after build and reassembly on the customer site. These machines are particularly suitable for the production of off-axis segments as used in segmented mirror designs of astronomical telescope as well as monolithic designs IRP 1600.
